LEADERSHIP SERIES
Session 1: Foundational Concepts
Session 1 is a two-day workshop that provides foundational concepts
and experiential learning to:
- Demystify diversity, inclusion, and cultural competence and clarify
their relevance to organizational effectiveness and movement building
- Understand the dynamics of power that impact organizational productivity, performance, and the ability to sustain diverse partnerships.
- Develop and practice skills for observing and diagnosing diversity issues in work teams, organizations, and coalitions.
- Create a supportive community of change agents who share values and
a vision for a making diversity and inclusion foundational to environmental and social change.
Session 2: Deepening Awareness and Skill Development
Session 2 is a two-day workshop that builds on the foundational concepts presented in Session 1. It provides a deeper dive into:
- Experiential practice and learning about foundational skills for cultural competence and inclusive behaviors, tied to organizational effectiveness and personal and professional development.
- Effective, culturally competent leadership and skills to engage across difference.
- Examination of issues and dynamics of race and how they impact individuals, organizations, coalitions, and movements. This is the first of four major diversity areas that will be explored in depth during the Series.
- Deepening a supportive community of change agents who share values and a vision for a making diversity and inclusion foundational to environmental and social change.
